                For over 2000 years faith has sustained individual Christians
                through persecutions and trials.  They have held to faith
                that miracles can still happen.  That death is not an end.
               That loving one's neighbor is a pretty sound idea.
               That we have the power - and even the responsibility - to forgive.
               That we can try to be "perfect as the Lord is perfect.
               It sure isn't easy, but it beats most of the alternatives.       

  

Jesus said, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer
and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list.
But there is a second to set alongside it:
'Love others as well as you love yourself.'"
These two commandments are pegs; everything in God's law
and the Prophets hangs from them."
