Alarm Clock

When everything is quiet

When you sleep at my side

In the glare of linear time defined

In those moments before the alarm clock

destroys our peace

I can see our shadows on the wall

The shimmer that is you

The smolder that is me

The glow that is us.

I'm going to pull the plug now

On that blasted harbinger of dawn

So that

Just maybe

This beauty will never end.
