- Reports of Officers
President:
- We are not consistent with our refereeing.
- More training is needed. Attendance at meetings would help in this regard.
Vice President:
- A player removing their jersey to celebrate a goal does not necessarily earn a yellow card. USSF law states it should be reported to the competition authorities but it could be sanctioned as unsporting conduct also.
- USSF law states offensive, foul and/or abusive language is a RED card offense not a yellow.
Assignor
- Not enough officials are available. Out of 35 on the roster only 15 are doing games.
- Playoffs for the CNYSSL start at 6pm unless otherwise noted. Coliseum home games still start at 8pm.
Registrar
- Everyone should have received his or her material in the mail. Do not send it in to USSF bring to the re-certification clinic to be held soon. If you did not receive it contact Ed Kobos or Kit Hutchinson.
- New Business
- Re-Certification clinic dates will be sent to everyone by email. The one chosen most will be selected. The 3 members that need a fitness test, will have them scheduled individually.
- Past tournaments
- Gettysburg, PA: 8 referees went and a great time was had by all, despite the weather.
- ODP: Ed went as assessor and had one of his assessments selected to be critiqued at the nightly referee meeting
- State Cup: Sean, Kevin and Ed were selected. Sean declined, because he was in SC. Rain cancelled Kevin's games and Ed had 1 CR and 1 AR..
- Region 1: Ed and Sean were selected and experienced hot weather. Ed was the SAR in a Bu14 and Sean was the CR in a Gu14 Semi-Final. They were chosen from out of the 198 referees that were there.
- College Showcase: Kevin attended in Burnt Hills
- Hall of Fame U19 & U17: Ed was used as CR in 2 Games and AR in another, He also performed one assessment.
- Clifton Park: Kevin, Art, Jason, and Tim Zotta attended over a weekend.
- Future Tournaments:
Gettysburg: August 22-24 if you want to attend contact Ed right away
- Sportplx: Sportplx is now AYSO certified. For the upcoming year you MUST be an AYSO referee in order to get games. Ed, Ray and Bill Brooks will schedule a class in the future.
- CNYSSL Finals: Referees will be coming from out of the area to do the 3 final games in accordance with. The league will pay ½ of the hotel room for them. A motion was made by Ray and seconded by John that the club pay the other ½. The motion passed 9-1.
- Training:
- CNYSSL Playoffs and "How to determine a winner": A handout was passed out and discussed for a tie game. If you did not receive a hand out and are doing a center contact a member that attended the meeting to find out what the procedures are.
- Filling out a game report: The reports need to be better. The league (and sometimes New York State East) views them and if they aren’t correct it will look bad for us. ALL red cards need a supplemental report that contains ONLY the facts of the situation and NO "editorializing". Also, get the registration # of the player(s) you card. They are right on the roster you are handed before the game. If you do not have injuries or cards write "none" in the space to prevent changes in the future. If you are unsure of how to fill out a report, contact Ed, Kevin or Art.
Meeting adjourned at 9:35 PM: Ray first, Peter seconded.
Respectfully Submitted
Peter Inserra, Secretary
