John Collin, or Jack as he prefers to be known, is selected along with four other high school honors graduates to be part of a top-secret project for the Pentagon. The goal: To create a military thinking machine to be used in war. The most effective solution to people on the ground, this artificial intelligence will think for itself, using satellites to initiate it's attacks. Without room for error, it will be the most effective war machine on earth, needed no human guidance except for orders. it is called "The Defense for American Nationality and Allied Embassies", or DANAE for short. The project moves along smoothly, until something goes wrong, and people begin to act strangely. Worse, people are missing, and even dying. Can they find out what's happening on this small island and make it out alive?
