The Talented Mr. Ripley
Matt Damon stars as Tom Ripley, a man whose life is a complete mystery except for the fact that he is poor. He is sent to sent to Italy to retrieve Dickie Greenleaf played by Jude Law, by Dickie's father. Dickie lounges around Italy with spending his father's money. Dickie also has a girfriend who like him is rich and basically leisures as a profession, Marge played by Gwyneth Paltrow. The film is directed by Anthony Minghella (known for directing The English Patient) and he also wrote the screenplay.
This movie is phenomenal. If you like thriller's you'll love this film. You'll find yourself hoping Tom gets away with everything he does even though he is "the bad guy". Matt Damon and Jude Law both give wonderful performances. It is one of the films you have to see in the theater. Spend your $8, it is totally worth it!
