Minutes
St. Columba/St. Denis/Blessed Kateri Conference June 11, 2008
Carole opened the meeting at 7:05 pm with a reading from Matthew chapter 12 verses 28-30.

The minutes were read by Barbara Yannaco, accepted by John Lucid, and seconded by Kay Coyle.

In attendance were Carole and Bill Grafer, John Lucid, Michele Berner, Ray Reilly, Kay Coyle, Nick Dono, JoAnn DiSalvo, Roseann and Lou Malagrino, and Barbara Yannaco.

Our HPNAP report for May: we served 77 households which included 121 children, 135 adults, and 15 elderly. This represents a 20% increase over May 2007.

The food closet will be closed from June 23-26 due to the construction work being done on the school. We hope that the closet will reopen on the 27th, however work at the school will be ongoing all summer. Please use extra caution when coming to the closet and remind your clients of the construction. If you encounter any problems please call Carole and let her know.

We thank Girl Scout troop 590 that shopped for us and  put the food in the closet. We also thank troops 509 and 536 that held food drives for us.

Chuck, Joanne and Nick went to the food bank on June 9th. They returned with 3026 pounds of food and spent $1897.31. At he closet to help put the food away were Ed and Diane Ryan, Bucky and Laura Ryan, Kay, Ann, Betty Carole, and Tom Andriello.

East Fishkill Library will be holding a program called “Catching the Giving Bug“ during July and August. We will be the recipient of some of the food that is “caught.”

Carole ordered 100 milk coupons on June 10th. Beginning August 8th these coupons will have to be prepaid. This is not a reflection on us but rather a new company policy.

Michele Berner is the moderator for the student council for grades  3,4, and 5 at Noxon Road Elementary School. The students worked on a food service project this year and raised $600.00. We are pleased to say that we are the recipient of half of that money. We would like to thank Michele and all of the students for their generosity.

The meeting ended at 7:45 with a prayer. After the meeting a short social was enjoyed by all. The next meeting will be September 10,2008. Have a wonderful summer!
