| Carole opened the meeting at 7:05 pm
with a reading from Luke chapter 6 verses 27-31. The minutes were read by Barbara Yannaco, accepted by Kay Coyle, and seconded by John Lucid. In attendance were: Betty Riggio, Chuck and Joanne Bunnell, Jack Kiely, Yvonne Alexander, Nancy Guarino, John Lucid, Laura and Bucky Ryan, Dianne and Ed Ryan, Kay Coyle, Carole and Bill Grafer, Jim Falanga, Nick Dono, and Barbara Yannaco. Our HPNAP report for September: we served 66 households which included 109 children, 113 adults, and 20 elderly. We will provide Linda with $250 out of our treasury to be used to purchase coats, mittens, and gloves for our clients who need them. There will be a reception for Msgr. Colacicco in honor of his 25th anniversary to the priesthood. We will be giving him a card from our society on this occasion. The Gino gift certificates will be given to some of our clients. Carole, Joanne, and Linda will determine who will be best able to use these when they go over our client list .The client list meeting will be held at Carole’s house on October 20th. Nick, Joanne, and Chuck went to the food bank on Oct. 10th. They brought back 2,916 pounds of food and spent $2200.70. Ann, Betty, Kay, Bucky, Ed, and Carole were all on hand to help put it away. |
Carole
gave money to Kay to continue to purchase the eggs and also to
John to buy items that we need but were not available at the food bank. There will be a food drive at Blessed Kateri. Society volunteers will hand out empty bags with a list of what we need on the weekend of Oct. 27-28. On the weekend of Nov.3-4 the society will have volunteers at the Masses to collect the bags. The East Fishkill police department will be holding at food drive for us at the Hopewell A&P on November 10th. St. Columba Religious Education program collects paper, hygiene, and cleaning products for us in the fall. Carole spoke to Jim Rao at the Stop and Shop in Beekman. We will once again be part of their Food for Friends program which will begin in January. REMINDER: Please call your clients to see if they will need a basket for Thanksgiving AND/OR CHRISTMAS. Please obtain all necessary info such as ages, sizes etc. and get this information to Linda ASAP. Thank you. The next meeting will be on Nov. 14th. Carole ended the meeting at 8:20 pm with a prayer.
