Minutes
St. Columba/St. Denis/Blessed Kateri Conference April 12, 2006
Carole called the meeting to order at 7:10pm. The prayer was the prayer for Wednesday in Holy Week by Hildegard of Bingen.

The minutes were read by Barbara Yannaco; accepted by Linda Hunt; and seconded by Joanne Bunnell.

I n  attendance were: Joanne Bunnell, Betty Riggio, Anne Nardelli, Carole Grafer, Linda Hunt, Kathy Palmer, Kay Coyle, Nick Dono, Joann DiSalvo, and Barbara Yannaco.

Our HPNAP report for March 2006: we served 69 households which included 100 children, 137 adults, and 12 elderly.

On March 22nd Nick and Bucky went to the food bank. They spent $746.43 and got 1702 pounds of food.  Ann, Betty, Linda, Kay, Joanne and Chuck Bunnell were at the closet to help put the food away. Nick made a special trip to the food bank on April 12th. He returned with 718 pounds of food [mostly meat] and spent $931.48.  This was a very busy day for Nick as when he returned from the food bank, he was at our food closet for an inspection. The inspection went very well . The inspector did recommend that we send some people for a food safety course. He will send us information on this and we will discuss it again at that time. The next trip to the food bank will be in the beginning of May.

The St. Columba-St. Denis PSA will hold their card party on May 26th.  We always receive a very generous response from this affair.

The St. Denis youth group held a 24 hour food fast and donated $114.00 and 238 food items to the pantry. During this event Joann Bunnell took the time to explain to the youth group why many times people in this area do not have enough money for food.

Linda reported that we handed out 95 Easter baskets. All agreed that we may need to change our system of doing this so that the recipients of the baskets are there when father blesses them.

We have received a donation of $665.00 from the Altar Rosary Society.

Linda will be going to a luncheon for  the East Fishkill Rotary on April 13th. She will be accepting a check from them to us with our thanks.

Kathy Steiger from the Health Ministry has informed  us that they will be having a health fair after all the Masses at St. Columba on June 11th. She asked if we would like to have a booth. We will be doing this if we can get enough coverage for the day.

Carole gave us all a handout with guidelines for clients and members. She also gave us a suggested shopping list for a family of four for two weeks. These items are also hanging in the closet for easy reference.

The next meeting will be May 10th.

Carole ended the meeting with a prayer at 8:11 pm.
