Minutes
St. Columba/St. Denis/Blessed Kateri Conference February 9, 2005

The meeting came to order at 7:05 PM. Carole read Joel 2, verses 12-14.
Today is Ash Wednesday. I read last months’ minutes which were accepted.
We welcome a new member, Linda Boysen.

Those who attend this meeting were Kay Coyle, Dorothy Perez, Jerry Perez, JoAnn DiSalvo, Barbara Yannaco, Betty Riggio, Nick Dono, Jack Kiely, Linda B., Jim Falanga, Nancy Behanna, Carole and Bill Grafer and myself.

Our first order of business was the HAPNAP report. We served 50 households, 76 children, 88 adults, and 13 elderly.

JoAnn DiSalvo helped out with the Souper Bowl weekend and stated that the 2 youth groups did great. The amount collected was $2,301. Carole will send them a thank you note.
Other donations that we received were $1200 from the East Fishkill Rotary Club and Stop & Shop’s Food for Friends donated $1291.40.
Blessed Kateri will have a second collection for us on March 12 and 13, while Mary Biasotti who supervises Blessed Kateri’s religion classes, will have a food drive March 14-17. She will have the students collecting paper goods, hygiene products and other miscellaneous items.

Kim Bush, a volunteer mom at Fishkill Plains Elementary School, will try and collect 100 can goods from the school’s kindergartners when they celebrate their 100th day of school. Carole will be their guest speaker.

Father Michael needs to update the parish’s web site and ask us to fill out some paperwork for him.
In our last newsletter, Carole included the names of other area food pantries that may be of help when clients move out of our district.

We have noticed that our existing answering machine does not always behave the way it should. When Chuck comes back from vacation, we will have him look into this problem. If necessary, we will invest in a new one.

There will be a trip to the food bank on February 18th.

Our last order of business was a discussion about the Easter Baskets. Easter comes early this year, March 27, so we will have to stay on top of it.
I will contact Kathy Jones from Good Counsel to see how many baskets the house needs.

The meeting ended 8:15. We send a prayer for all our clients’ families.
