Minutes
St. Columba/St. Denis/Blessed Kateri Conference June 11, 2003

The meeting came to order at 7:10 PM. A reading from John chapter 15 was read. Minutes were read and accepted.
In attendance were Bill and Carole Grafer, Jack Kiely, Jim Falanga, Pete Murray, Mary Dietz, Linda Hunt, Nick Dono, Chuck and Joanne Bunnell and myself.
This will be our last meeting until the fall. To start off with, we served a total of 45 families in the month of May. Eighty one adults, 9 seniors and 88 children were given food. We are still in good shape in the food pantry.
Since we have had no luck locating a used steel cabinet, all of us voted to go ahead and make the
purchase.
Shop Rite in Fishkill donated a good amount of surplus food. They made arrangements to meet Linda H. at the food pantry and delivered it. Shop Rite has promised to continue helping us. Next we discussed the magnets to be given out to the three churches. Jim has volunteered to get the ball rolling on this issue. His first idea is to call local businesses to see if they will pay for the printed magnets. The business's name will be included. Secondly, Jim will check other sources for pricing the magnets. We are looking to print 5,000.
Our goal is to remind parishioners to bring a nonperishable item weekly. Jim will also look into the cost of mailing the magnets to parishioners. Pete, Mary and myself volunteered to be on his committee to do some calling. Nick suggested a calendar in place of the magnets. Another idea that was brought up was key chains. The committee will consider all suggestions. Carole set a deadline date for the completion of this project for August.
The application for HPNAP and Operation Supplement has been filed.
Carole would like to thank Frank the delivery man for the donation of bread. The food pantry is always in need for sliced bread. Looking ahead, September 10 is our next scheduled meeting.
In early August, all three church bulletins will ask for donations of school supplies. The drop off date will be August 20th. The school items will be set up outside the food pantry's hallway.
September 13th is Fishkill Community Day and on Saturday, September 27th we will have a mass honoring St. Vincent de Paul. The meeting came to an end at 8:10 PM. We said a prayer then refreshments were had by all. Enjoy the summer months.
