AWS

Ok, now i will try to exlpain what AWS or All Wheel Steering is. Honda want to make a better turning car that would help with everyday drving. Thus the aws was created.Click here for a rough diagramHonda was the only manufacturer that produced a all wheel steering unit that could last, Mazda made a all wheel steering unit for its 91 mx6 but was later discontinued. Honda started making AWS in 1987 and made it until 1996. This System is controlled by the power-assisted system; there is a long shaft that goes the rear steering box that controls the rear wheels. The AWS Feature only came on Si models. On the 91 Prelude the aws system shortened the turning diameter 3.3 feet. Once you have driven a car with AWS, its really odd going back to a regular steering.
