Summer Reading
Below you will find a list from which you are to select two books to read over the summer. These books are at the level at which you should be reading, and are available at your local public library. You must choose two from this list. Of course you are free to read additional books of your choice.
The two books selected also require you to complete a short book report. The information needed for the book report is also below. These book reports are due the first day back at school in September. They will be your first reading grade for fifth grade.

Book Report Requirements

- Main Characters ( at least 2) and a short description of their character traits (not physical traits)
- Setting ( time and place)
- Briefly explain the main idea or plot of the story. (brief summary)
- Briefly explain the main characters problem in the story.
- What two events take place to help solve the problem? Be specific
- The best/ worst part of the book was........ because........
- My opinion of thebook is ............ because .........
