The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, (Matt 5:45)

Creator of heaven and earth;  (Genesis 1:1ff; Romans 1:20)

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;  (Matt 3:17; Philippians2:11)

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,  (Luke 1:35)

born of the Virgin Mary, (Luke 2:7)

suffered under Pontius Pilate,  (John 19: 16)

was crucified, died, and was buried. (John 19:29-42)

He descended into hell;  (1 Peter 3: 19-20)

the third day He rose again from the dead;  (Matt 28:1-10;  John 20: 11-18)

He ascended into heaven,  (Luke 24: 51)

and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty;  (Hebrews 1 :3;  Mark 14: 36)

from thence He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.  (Matt 16:27; Acts 10: 39ff;  1 Corinthians 15: 51ff)

I believe in the Holy Spirit,  (John 14: 15-20;  Acts 1: 7-8)

the Holy Catholic Church, (Matt 16: 18-19;  Ephesians 5:26-27; Colossians 1: 24)

the communion of saints, (Matt 28: 19-20;  2 Corinthians 11: 13; 1 Corinthians 15 :33)

the forgiveness of sins,  (John 20: 22-23)

the resurrection of the body, (1 Corinthians 15: 51-54;  1 Thessalonians 3: 13-18)

and life everlasting. Amen.  (1 John 5: 20)
