2003-2000 Racing season

The 2003 season did not ended quite the way that I expected. I ended up 6th in the final points standings after literally crashing and burning on August 24, 2003. At the point of the crash, we were only 20 points out of the lead for the championship.

The year started out great. We won our 1st feature of 2003 on July 12. We then came back the following weekend and finished 2nd, 2nd, and 1st in the triple 20 races.

At the season ending banquet, I received my plaque for 6th in points, Most Popular Driver and Hard Luck award.

This is a photo taking at the beginning of the season at Wyoming County International Speedway. We ran there for 2 races prior to Tioga opening. We had a 2nd and a 3rd place finish with 2 heat wins.

We started out the year with the plan of "playing" at Tioga on Friday nights and racing Chemung on Saturdays. Things went that we were battling for a championship at Tioga instead. We ended up 4th in points at the end of the year and 9th in points at Chemung.

We ran the season at Chemung Speedrome. We started out the season in a stock frame car. It wasn't as competitive as the tube frame cars we were competing against. My husband Billy was running excellent and was a top competitor for the championship. At the end of the season, he had enough points lead that he let me "borrow" his car for a night. We won that race in his car and became the first female to win a feature event in Chemungs history also. Billy went on to be the inaugural track champion for the New ChemungSpeedrome.
