8.14.02-New"LIVE PHISH" out on Oct. 29
Phish will continue its "Live Phish" series with Volumes 13-16, consisting of their 4 musical-costume Halloween performances. At each show, the band donned a "musical costume," covering a classic album as the middle set of a three-set show. The shows, from
1994, 1995, 1996, and 1998, feature Phish covering The Beatles' White Album, The Who's Quadrophenia, Talking Heads' Remain in Light, and The Velvet Underground's Loaded, respectively. Each release is a 4-disc set. (The 1998 release includes a bonus disc featuring material from the previous evening.)

Phish Dry Goods is now taking preorders for Volumes 13-16. We plan to begin shipping mid-October and orders should arrive at your door before they go on sale in stores on October 29. Although we cannot guarantee delivery before the release date, we will do everything possible to get orders to people before then. Also available is a new batch of Live Phish merch, including a new limited edition Pollock poster and a reprint of Pollock's classic 1995 Halloween poster. Click Here to Pre-Order
Other new "Live Phish" merchandise is also available

  Another Trey Tour Likely
As of this writing, the website of
Peter Apfelbaum, a member of Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio's backing band, indicates a Trey solo tour this fall (October 22 - November 3).
Trey Anastasio and his band finished off a month and a half of amphitheatre dates with a performance at the
Bonnaroo festival on June 23. Full tour details, including setlists and photos, can be found on Trey's site. His latest solo release, "Trey Anastasio", is available from Phish Dry Goods.

  4.30.02 - Trey CD Released
Trey to record solo album, and more...
There is no precedent in rock & roll for the decision made last fall by the four members of Phish. After seventeen years and 1,300 concerts together, guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio, drummer Jon Fishman, bassist Mike Gordon and keyboardist Page McConnell announced that they were stopping. Not exactly breaking up, but also not promising that they would ever be back. There were no fights, meltdowns or Yokos. They didn't burn out, and they didn't fade away. They just quietly decided to pack in while they were still on top.

Phish Is NOT Breaking Up!!!! Read The Article PHISH NOT DEAD
Trampled by Lambs & Pecked by the Dove consists of 25 raw tracks recorded by Trey Anastasio & Tom Marshall in 1997 during 4 weekend songwriting sessions. There is an unmistakable immediacy & excitement to these tracks, as the songs were recorded to an eight-track digital tape machine as they were being created. Their efforts over a total of 9 days yielded 10 songs featured on the 2 most recent Phish albums, The Story of the Ghost & Farmhouse, as well as additional songs that have been performed live by Phish, but not recorded in the studio. This CD also contains songs from the sessions which have not yet been heard elsewhere. (PHANS.COM)

  MESSAGE FROM RADIO CITY
Posted from PHISH to rec.music.phish via Shelly Culbertson: >>>>>>>>If you will be attending the shows in New York next weekend, please note the following message from the general manager of Radio City Music Hall. Your understanding and cooperation is very much appreciated. Thank you. "All of us at Radio City Music Hall are really looking forward to being part of the upcoming Phish shows -- two very special nights in a very special place. We're working closely with the tour staff to make sure that everything goes smoothly for everyone -- organizing an effective ticket pick-up and entry system, plus accomodating the tapers and letting people in with empty water containers to re-fill inside (not things we would normally do). But we're asking for your help too -- please come in the spirit of enjoying the music and enjoying our beautifully restored theater. We know this is asking alot, but please, no smoking and just treat our seats and carpets with a little extra care to keep them looking stylish for the next time. We'll make sure everyone feels welcome inside." - Shelly ---------- PHISH.COM

Everyone I know found out about the New Year's show on the Web," says Brian Reen, an eighteen-year-old fan from Connecticut.
Reen discovered Phish through friends five years ago and began looking to the Internet to stay informed. He started frequenting various message boards, eventually joining a small one that had fifty other fans; they became a tightknit group of followers who often see each other when Phish are on tour. "I see at least one other person from the message board at each show," Reen says. "I road-tripped with five of them to Florida for New Year's. A couple of people have even moved in together." Reen recently started his own site,
www.phans.com, which he says gets 5,000 hits a day.

Phish are one of the most successful bands of the last ten years. But then, you might not know that, because their rise from gigging in the bars of Burlington, Vermont, to playing in front of stadium-size crowds has been accomplished with no radio play and scant notice from the mainstream media.

Take your three P's -- that's one part Phish, one part Primus and one part the Police -- and what do you get? One hell of an eccentric, loopy supergroup. Trey Anastasio of Phish, Les Claypool of Primus and Stewart Copeland of the Police will assemble on May 4 for a performance at New Orleans's Saenger Theater. The show will coincide with -- but not be part of -- the city's annual Jazz and Heritage Fest.

Phish float donated to R&R Hall of Fame..
The hot-dog float that carried Phish to the stage during their New Year's Eve festival in Florida last week will be donated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, according to the band's publicists. The float will hang in the hall's atrium. The Burlington, Vt., improvisational band rode the float over the crowd of 75,000 at Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation before playing the eight-hour marathon set that ended the Dec. 30–31 event. The shows grossed $11.6 million, according to the trade magazine Pollstar, making it the highest-grossing millennium event in the United States. The band also used the hot-dog float at a show at the Boston Garden on Dec. 31, 1994.
