ALLEGORY INTERPRETATION:
10/1/99

The allegory is a story about the guy in the cave, who is let out and gets to see the real world. Being that he was locked up all his life in the cave the real world scared him. And he went back into the cave because that all he knew. He was frightened because everything that he ever seen besides darkness were shadows that her thought was real but it was just an illusion and itwhen he was in light he seen the truth and what reality was. What he seen from the glare on the walls wasn,t true. He,d rather be back in the cave because that is what he was used to. When he went on the outside world he felt like he was missing out on something and he went back and told the other prisoners that everything that they were seeing was'nt the real thing.
Understanding what was the real thing was the first part, and now he must learnand become more educated about the real world and learn how to survive. Some people are weak to take on the challenge of the realworld. It's just like being born again or like when a baby is born they have to learn everything if you only have one thing or one eviroment around that person all there life, then that is all the person is going know. When something new comes along they may not like it and accept ,but it not there fault they feel the way they feel because they never knew anything else.

ALLEGORY QUESTIONS:
1.Plato is a greek philosopher, one of the most creative and influential thinkers in western philosophy. He was born to an aristocratic family in Athens. He was also a disciple of Plato. He accomplished 35dialogues and 13 letter. The dialogues of the middle and later periods of plato's life reflect his own philosophical development.

3.The Alegory has'nt really changed my way of thinking, but it have made me realize how much people can adapt to something even if it is something that is bad and or harmful to them, that is all they know so they accept it. I feel sorry for anyone that has been locked up all there lives.

4. One thing that I have learned from the cave is to always be ready for change and always be ready to experience new things and accept them for what they really are.
