Point Of View (Prologue)
Dear Ismene,
I don't know what to say and how to say it, but
here it goes. I am going to bury our brother Polynieces. I know Creon has
forbidden anybody from burying him, but I must, for he is our brother.
It is not fair for Eteocles to be buried with military honors while Polynieces
also fought bravely.
I know you must think I am crazy, but I am not.
I only feel misery and guilt. We have already suffered enough with our
life, and the death of our father Oedipus. I know having a burial for our
brother Polyneices will have the penalty of death in the public square.
I am willing to die for death is not a foe, but a friend, and I know I
am doing what I must. Ismene I know you will try to stop me, but there
is no way you can for I must bury the brother I love. Ismene, know that
I love you, for you have been a great sister to me. But now it is my time,
like it was with our father Oedipus
Point Of View (Scene 1)
Creon our King,
I am writing to inform you of a
terrible thing. I wish to speak to you in person, but fear what I will
see on your face, when I tell you this dreadful crime. For I am not the
one who did this, I can assure you. For I fear you and do not wish to disobey
your orders. Someone has put dust on Polyneices dead body. Someone...has
buried Polyneices!! Oh, King Creon for I do not know who has done this
and fear for my life. The fear for my life has sent me to looking for the
man that has done this and will bring the man to you at once.

Point Of View (Scene 2)
Dear Antigone,
Oh, why must you do this? Why must
you bury our brother Polyneices? You are mad and foolish! When you were
brought before Creon, why did you not lie and say you were out of your
mind insane!! Instead you confessed!! CONFESSED!!!! I must be mad and insane
and foolish as you for I also confessed to helping you. Though you tell
me not to, I still did. For me to live without you is like being already
dead. I love my brother Polyneices too. It took time for me to understand
why you are disobeying Creon, but now I know what you meant and take my
share of the punishment. For now we are both sentenced to death. Where
now we may be able to see our beloved father Oedipus and our brothers Polyneices
and Eteocles and become once again together like a family. Though I still
fear death, there seems to be hope for us.
Point Of View (Scene 3)
My understanding of Creon's philosophy
on leadership is that the King is control and that everyone must be able
to obey what he has to say to that. His philosophy on father and son relationship
from my understanding is that it is the same as that of his
philosohy on leadership. Creon has a way of wanting everyone to obey him.
It is as if he thinks he is immortal a god as everyone else is his servants
and they are just there to make him happy and give him satisfaction. His
view on woman is the same as that of his philosophy and of father and son
relationships. Creon has believes that women is helpless and useless to
man but they are needed to bear children for men so that more males, like
him are able to control women. Being that the time period is different
from the time period we are in now, I understand why Creon is like, but
I do not respect and like what they are doing.
Scene 4 and 5
Journal Writing
In scene four, I blieve that Antigone is trying to
reveal that everybody can pity Antigone all they want but it will never
kill her spirit. Or her belief that what she has done was right and everyone
knows that. It is just because everyone else is afraid to stand up and
support her because she is a women. In that time women were known to always
be wrong and the men were right and stronger than us that they have to
do everything for us.
The tragic hero, by Charlotte Boyett-Compo was really true. The author tells a real tale on how books are influenced by the readers. The readers want something touching , to the point, and makes you analyze and get in touch with your feelings. The readers want to be able be on the edge of their seat, wanting to find out what is going to happen. The readers want books that will make them not want to put the book down until they have finished reading to their satisfaction or until they have finished the book. So I agree with what the author is trying to say. That People want heros and real tales that may or maynot be true but makes the reader believe that it is true.
