My Neighborhood

My neighborhood has one area where all restaurants and stores as well as other business establishments are being set up. So if anybody from that area wants anything they just go there and they will then be able to find the things they need. Like one time when a couple of friends needed supplies to do a school project they went around all these others stores in Manhattan just to get them and when they came back home they found out that it would have been easier and more convenient to just get them here and alot cheaper. Then all around the stores are mostly houses and apartments. We also have a school near by where most of the kids in the neighborhood attends ( I was one of those kids as well as my sister and brother). So every time you pass the school during lunchtime you will be able to see little kids laughing and playing with each other. Most of the kids do not travel far to go to school until they have graduated Junior High School and is then attending a High School by train or bus in Manhattan, Queens, Bronx or maybe even in Staten Island.
In my neighborhood, people who live there are mostly Polish, though we do have some diverse cultures we don't have enough of them to make it a diverse. Don't get me wrong or anything we all get along with each other as neighbors and customers and friends very well. We help each other out and we try to learn the language of the other, such as that of Polish since they mostly dominate the neighborhood. An example of this is that a chinese restaurant writes out orders in polish of certain types of food. Besides that the restaurant owner also tries to talk with the Hispanics using common words that mostly other cultures will understand as well. So as you can see even though most of the neighborhood is dominantly Polish we try to understand one another.
Recently we have had many changes made in our neighborhood. We have had construction done in our streets, an auto shop has fixed up to look better and appealing, apartments are being refurnished, and stores are opening up later then they were before. I have also noticed that many of the owners are now more diverse with Asians, Hispanics, Polish, and Arabic owning the stores in the neighborhood. I believe that my neighborhood is just changing to be up to date with how fast the economy is changing with the technology we have today. It is either that or  just me growing up since I have lived there since I was about five or six years old.
I believe that people who lived there a long time ago were mostly Polish as well since most of the people I have spoken to always seem to mentioned their grandmother or grandfather or their great grandfather or great grandmother who lived in their house a long time ago telling them stories of their past and of how they were when they were their age. From what I have learned through my research is that my neighborhood has not changed that dramatically but has changed somewhat. In a sense that people living there are more diverse and contain more stores and businesses. The other that it has not changed that much is the amount of buildings and factories that we have in the neighborhood as well as family owned businesses.
Farther down to the south side of my neighborhood is dominated by the hispanics and where most of the kids go to school after they graduated from elementary school. As you can tell my neighborhood is in a way diverse but they seem to all be dominated into one area of the neighborhood. Though most of them are Hispanics and Polish the other cultures are spread around and more diverse where African Americans, Asians, and Arabic are living with the Hispanics and the Polish. My neighborhood get along with one another very well and do not stereotype or criticize one another because of race, religion, color or their culture. However we do get criticize when someone who do not live in the neighborhood comes into our neighborhood and do not understand the kind of diverse neighborhood we have. I understand how it is because when I went to a different neighborhood I often wonder how the people get along with one another because they are so different from one another. I am glad that my neighborhood is a diverse neighborhood where mostly everyone gets along with one another because our world still has not yet quite figured out that people who are so different from one another can have similar or common opinions can get along so well together.
