Picture 1...Step #1
A picture of casting the mold with liquid clay, called slip.
Picture 2... Step #2
Draining the excess liquid clay slip from the mold.
Picture 3... Step #3
The dry plaster walls of the mold
absorb water from the clay slip...
producing the clay shell or "GREENWARE".
Picture 4... Step #4
The mold seams need to be cleaned
with a special cleaning tool.
It may now be painted with special paints
made especially for greenware... or...
Picture 5... Step #5
It may be fired in a kiln...
into hardened clay called "BISQUE"
This is called the "Bisque Firing".

After the first firing "to Bisque"...
Colored or Clear Glaze (especialy made for bisque)
may now be painted on... then ...

The item is put back into a kiln...
for it's "GLAZED FIRING".
Picture 8... Step #8
The finished ceramic item is now...
READY TO USE!
The Ceramic Colored Glaze has undergone
a chemical change that has changed it
into a beautiful colored gloss look.
The Clear Glaze has undergone the same change...
but into a clear gloss look.
Picture 9... Beautiful!
The Piece is now ready to display or give as a gift!
