We
took a small group of about 40 orchestra members on this tour,
including three members from our sister organization, the Tulsa
Youth Symphony.
On
July 8th, 1999, a motley crew of forty chaperones, young
musicians, and their director headed off on a great
adventure--one that would take them across the Atlantic Ocean and
to the European isles of England, Scotland, and Ireland. For two
and a half weeks they would explore these countries, playing
concerts along the way, and collecting enough memories to last a
lifetime. Here is my little tribute to this fantastic experience
that for me, was undoubtedly, the best summer of my life, thus
far.
