Patrick Troughton's Companions

Here are summeries of Patrick Troughton's companions.

Ben and Polly (Michael Craze and Anneke Wills)

Ben and Polly started out as companions of William Hartnell. They joined the show as Dodo left and were with the Doctor when he first regenerated. There is only one full surviving episode with Ben and Polly, which is War Machines. The episode where the Doctor regenerates is only missing the last segment. I'm not sure about other stories they apear in. Ben was a sailor and Polly was a secretary. They accidently entered the TARDIS just as it was about to de-materialise. Ben was tough and always ready for a fight. Polly screemed a lot.

Victoria (Deborah Watling)

Victoria's first episode has been lost. In fact, her only fully surviving episode is Tomb of the Cybermen. Her father was killed by daleks and she joined the Doctor because she had nowhere else to go. I'm not sure what year she was supposed to be from but it was obviously some time in the 1800s, judging from her clothing and her view of wearing short skirts. ("Nevermind. Just look at Jamie's...") She was pretty much a typical female companion of the 60s. She screemed, she went running to the Doctor for help, etc., etc. But she could still stand up to bad guys when she had to, which is always good.

James Robert McCrimon (Frazer Hines)

Jamie was Scottish and when he met the Doctor his main thought in life was to "kill the Redcoats". His first episode was The Highlanders (which was lost), and his last was The War Games(which was not). He came from several centuries ago--not sure exactly which century...I should know that...Anyway, he grew and matured durring his time with the Doctor, but never quite lost his fight-first-and-ask-questions-later attitude. He was very good with a knife, had a tendency to make a fool of himself, and very often came up with brilliant ideas without meaning to. (That shows you just how useful an education is to the Doctor's companions...)
Jamie left when the Time Lords bannished the Doctor to Earth. They returned both Jamie and Zoe to their homes and erased their memories of the time they had spent with the Doctor, except for each's first encounter.

Zoe Harriet (Wendy Padbury)

Zoe was a well-dressed wiz kid from the twenty-first century. Her knowladge sometimes seemed to rival the Doctor's and she didn't mind kidding him about it. Still, she wasn't experienced at all with dealing with alien monsters and tended to get frightened quite easily. She joined the Doctor durring The Wheel in Space (lost), and left with Jamie at the end of The War Games.
