DaGunk's Home Page

A view into my most recent obsess...er... hobby.

It all started with that Defensive Driving Course (to save on insurance, of course). It was right across from the pet shop, and during a break I wandered in and began to think, "Hmm, you know, a fish tank would look really good in our apartment (it's like living art!)"...

 Other Links & Such

Here are some of the websites I've found to be well-nigh indespensible (most have "forums" for Q&A and good libraries of FAQs and profiles):

Aquaria Central (sometimes out of service...)

Aqualink

Animal Atlas

The Krib

Tom's Place

 DaGunk!--the comic strip

 Plant Links

Most of these sites have tremendous sources of information that I couldn't possibly reproduce here (or need to--after all they have!)

Aquabotanics

Jared's page

Pets Warehouse

Tropica Aquarium Plants

RuyLopez

Chuck Gadd's site (includes GREAT list of Karen Randall's Articles from Aquarium Frontiers--a must see/read!!)

Hoa Nguyen

Supplies and such:

If you're like me and couldn't find PMDD (poor man's Dupla Drops) chemicals locally, try these folks:

All of the tanks, plants, and fish you see here were purchased at:

Fairmount Aquariums & Watergardens

(just outside Syracuse, NY)

IMHE, the best fish and plants in CNY--and a very knowledgeable staff

(and I don't get a discount for saying that!)

For stuff I can't get locally, I (guiltily) resort to:

Dr. Fosters & Smith
