First, it's not "da gunk" as in the Americanized shorthand for "the"; rather, it's a nodding tribute to one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, Gorky's (don't look for it, after a brief expansion, both the original and Hollywood location closed). Anyway, it was named after the Russian novelist and had many Russian language puns like "Da-licious." You get the idea. Why Gunk? If you've ever played guitar, you know that your fingers leave little bits of callous behind as you play and you have to clean your strings every once in a while. Well, if you do know that, you know more than I did-- I had to be told, which was how I got the nickname.
Other Hobbies and Misdemeanors:
Was in a band in LA for 5 years ("Sunday Silents"). Played bass and back-up vocals. Self Produced one album ("Tattoos of Youth and Anger"), and even toured in England. Quit band for law school.
Drew a comic strip ("Da Gunk!") for four years, published in local papers in LA and Syracuse, NY. (A sample, self-portrait of sorts is below...)

Graduated from University of Southern California with a BA in Ethical Philosophy after dropping out of USC's Film School.
Graduated from Syracuse College of Law, and have been employed as an Assistant District Attorney in NY for the past four years.
Before that I held jobs as bartender, waiter, administrative assistant, bouncer, security, customer service, landscaper, and ice cream stocker at Baskin-Robbins.
When I'm not working (which is rare) or cleaning up after the dog, cats, and fish (even rarer), I like to follow baseball [a Reds fan until 1994, at which point I could no longer reasonably follow the Reds except in box scores due to a lack of National League coverage in the area. My roommate forced me to watch the Yankees, and now am a fan of the Yanks too (and why not??--if you watch Ken Burns' history of baseball you realize that the Yanks really are synonymous with baseball history)].
