school.

i go to high school. brighton high school, to be exact. it's a school that is known nationwide for excellent grades, athletic achievement, and perfect students. however, under this great facade, there is a huge problem. and no one can fix it, either. what am i talking about? drugs.

drugs are everywhere in my school. it's sickening. i know that drugs are probably in every school, but here it's awful. brighton is full of rich snobby kids with way too much money on their hands, and way too much spare time. the majority of students in here now have probably tried some kind of drug before. and, i know for a fact that if you walked down a random hallway, and there weren't teachers around, you could probably find a drug dealer. it's really really stupid, and kind of depressing.

a lot of people smoke cigarettes, too. they all group together at a corner out near the parking lot, known by the non-smokers as "the cancer corner". people who smoke in high school are almost certainly giving themselves a death sentence. people who start smoking at an early age usually can't quit very easily, and they will eventually die of lung cancer. it's their problem anyway, not mine. if they want to fuck up their lives, they can go right ahead.

the real junkies go behind a small cluster of pine trees behind the soccer field. that's where we have the serious drugs that students have almost died from (brighton has had students taken to the hospital because of overdoses before).

now, you are probably wondering how i know so much about the drugs in my school. i am not a drug user myself, and never will be. the only reason i know about this is because i am friends with a girl who knows the junkie group, and she tells me everything about what the whole drug situation is like. take my word on it, i have never tried a drug. don't want to, and never will.

even though there are all of these problems, brighton does have a good side. it has some of the best teachers in the nation, who in my opinion are damn tough, and are very efficient and thorough in preparing students for college. plus, going to brighton definitely has its advantages. most local businesses around here love to hire "brighton kids". colleges apparantly like brighton students, too.

so, basically, the kids in my school suck, but the teachers are great. there's my school in a nutshell for you.
