Well, here's the page where you'll learn all the fun little factoids about me.
Ok, where to start...Lets see. I'm 22, my birthday is November 3, 1980. I'm about 5'3", have blonde hair and blue eyes.
I absolutely love being outdoors. I hate being cooped up inside, and especially working jobs where I can't be outdoors. That's why I love working around horses. I've got a 5 year old Quarter Horse mare named Sassy, she's in the picture above with me. You can see more pics of her on my horses page. In addition to working with my own horse, I am the volunteer coordinator and chair of the fundraising committee at HORSE Rescue and Sanctuary. We have 22 horses at the farm, along with a couple others out in foster homes. I work with several of the horses at the rescue on a regular basis, including riding them, as well as giving some lessons to the volunteers.
Believe it or not, horses are just my hobby (even though they do make up the biggest part of my life), and I do have a "real job." I work on a dairy farm, milking, but I also do a wide variety of other jobs, from cleaning to trimming hooves to giving shots. It may not sound like a great job, but I like it, and I have actually learned quite a bit about dairy farming!
This year I am returning to school, SUNY Empire State, to complete a degree. I will be taking a Business Management program, with my main focus on Stable Management. I am really looking forward to these courses, and hope it'll help me in all I do at the rescue. In May, I will also be attending a CHA Riding Instructor Certification Clinic at Houghton College. I will become a certified riding instructor in both English and Western (although I'll teach predominantly Western). With this certification, I'll be starting a lesson program at the horse rescue (a small program), with some of the profit going back to the rescue. I am also be looking to teach western riding lessons somewhere else in the area, so if anyone knows of any farms or ranches looking for instructors, please let me know!!
