Human reproduction is a fiercely studied field of interest. We have learned that conception begins when the male's sperm cell joins with the mother's ovum. Conception usually takes place in the fallopian tubes. Once this ovum is fertilized, it is then called a ZYGOTE. The zygote moves through the fallopian tubes till it reaches the uterus, which usually takes 4-5 days, becomes a Blastocyst. It will float around until it attaches itself to the uterine wall and begin to form a an outside layer called an ectoderm which will later form the skin, teeth hair nails and nervous system of the fetus. It will also form an inner layer called an endoderm will eventually develop most of the body organs. A third layer will form later which will be called mesoderm which will create muscles, skeletal system, and circulatory system. This is known as THE PERIOD OF THE OVUM.
