An angel can be seen
at many different times.
An angel can bless
many different people.
But unfortunately some places
angels fear to tread
I have been to these places
places as dark as black holes at midnight
places as cold as an ice age on a faraway planet
I have been to a place as unwelcoming
as a bug on the lip of the cup of your first drink at the bar
I saw misery there
the pain of those people was as unbearable as an indian summer with no air conditioning
It was such that I died there
an upon judgement day
I was judged to be good
I was judged to be an angel
when the day came to fly
and bless those who needed a miracle
no one wanted to go to the place
from where I came from
So I said I will go there.
I raised my hand and said
I maybe lonely, but if anyplace that needed miracles it is there.
As I walkd to the place
where I know at times I will falter, stumble and fall
I hear the gasps, sighs, laughs of the others
and to think to myself
I am a light
a beautiful light
