A'int it a shame when a 13-year-old
says she no virgin to earn her fame?
A'int it a shame that if I get robbed
it is my own people I am to blame?
A'int it a shame that an intelligent woman is cute
when she is considered to be deaf and mute?
A'int it a shame that to survive my people loot?
And then to prove their worth
the gun they wear on their hip will be pulled to shoot.
A'int it a shame that the world can't be
filled with song, dance and laughter?
A'int it a shame that when we see violence
we merely close the chapter?
A'int it a shame that we always knew that
the sadness must cease?
A'int it shame after all this time
there is still no peace?
My desire in life is to find a dame,
stake my claim,
make strong my business flame,
but in the world that reigns
I will probably be slain
for the fact that I am sane
that might just be what the fates have ordained
you may feel that reason is a bit lame
