I Don't Know Much
You weren’t always close by
But, you were always around
You didn’t say that much to me,
But I speak with your sound
I don’t know much about you
To this I admit.
We’ve never had that relationship
To discuss experiences life’s most precious gifts.
You’ve never seen me
Spike my volleyball,
But you were never to far
To get a phone call
I’m half of you
And of course, mother
If it’s any type of consolation
I’m glad it was no other
I didn’t learn the birds and bees
Or how to hold my liquor or any of those things
Instead I was taught like an eagle
And learn to fly with my own wings.
You left me to mold myself
And not another image of you
Not to say that it’s wrong but, To have your own thoughts
These are virtues
True virtue’s that makes a man a man
Not those that are just given to him
A stronger hand
So, if you become sad
And attempt to turn blue
Just think that all though
I don’t know much, but I know I love you.
