Phoenix
I am that whom they call Phoenix.
A bird of the consummate flame.
I light up the sky with my flight
With unbridled fury that only fools try to tame.
Have you ever touched my fire?
Would you dare if I gave you a turn?
Would you be surprised to know?
It doesn’t always burn.
At least not to those who care about me
To them my fire is a soothing light.
One that fills them up with hope and passion.
Illumination designed to give them sight.
To see the person that they were
So they understand the their past.
To see one can change their life.
The die is never cast.
To see whom they are in the present
To know that what you couldn’t, you can.
To see glimpses of the possible futures
And we’ll see your destiny
We’ll burn your name in the heavens
For all to see.
