Hi, my name is Salome, and I have a daughter named Coralyn. I decided to make this website shortly after giving birth to my daughter. I was 17 when I found out I was pregnant, and the pregnancy was a complete shock to my boyfriend and I. We weren't sure what to do, or who to turn to. It's hard to believe how much has changed since then. Today I am 22 and a full time college student. I am currently living with my boyfriend, Justin, in our very first apartment. It is hard but we are doing ok. Right now I'm majoring in elementary education and also going to modeling school part time. Justin is majoring in engineering. He recently got a full time job working for a company, while I work part time at a clothing store. Coralyn is 5 years old, and started kindergarten this year. She's been very excited about it and loves school. We're very glad we have her in our lives. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd be able to look back and be thankful that I found myself unexpectedly pregnant at 17. She's such a blessing and has made me strive to work harder each day.

I've looked at other teen parent websites that reflect happy couples in stable relationships who tried to have their babies or teens who gladly accepted motherhood. It wasn't the case with me. I was scared, unhappy, unsupported, and confused. I didn't want a baby, and that's why I think it's important to give my experience of becoming a young mom. And I hope you learn something from what I've gone through. I've definitely made it through. It was a struggle, and I'm not gonna sit here and tell you it was easy. It never was. It's still hard seeing friends my age able to enjoy being young while I have a huge responsibility.
