You're gonna laugh. You're gonna cry. You're gonna love this scrappy little Italian. And here's why!
1. Get it right out of the way, so I can get on to more substatial stuff. He's so gosh darned cute!
2. Racetrack Higgins from Newsies. I cannot see another actor play that part and do a better job than Mr. Casella did.
3. He's willing to dress in drag for a movie (Sgt. Bilko)! Most guys I know, and probably most I don't, would not dress in drag for anything, especially not to be seen world-wide, no matter how much you paid them.
4. The fact that he didn't look half bad in drag.
5. Dino Paperelli's (Max) seduction of Major Thorn (Phil Hartman, RIP) in Sgt. Bilko. I just have two questions. 1. Has a girl actually done that and that's where he got that idea? And if so, did that really work?!
6. Hakuna Matata! How many people do you know who'd be willing to put on a ton of green grease-paint and manipulate a huge, 5-foot puppet?
7. "Baby born with two heads. Must be from Brooklyn."
8. "Whoa! Hey, I give, I give." *pause**kick!*
9. "Remember that tip I told you about? No one told the horse."
10. "Hi, Soldier Boy"
11. "Whatta we supposed to do to the bums? Kiss 'em?" (ok, I know they're just lines, but it's all in the delivery)
12. Max's tap solo dance-thingie in "King of New York" in Newsies
13. Dr. Brown! Don't ask me why, I just think that it was a cool character that, even though it was small, was played to the hilt by one very talented Mr. Max Casella.
14. The fact that he seems to be a very nice guy, although I have never had the honor of meeting him. Like, there are all these people who have actually recieved replies to their fan mail to him! Now, anyone who would take time out of their busy schedule to do that is just down right awesome in my book!
