13 songs of intense black metal with synths. Very well put together! Musicianship is excellent, great production. This CD comes with lyrics and band photos and good layout design. This is probably on of the best Black Metal bands in the USA with this release. Songs like For All Eternity, The Chaos That Crawls, Beyond the Stars, Les Fleurs Du Mal and The Gates of the Spirit Kingdom are black as fuck! Buy this now! Highly recommended!!

Impressive demo by this three piece from MI. The musicianship is excellent! Doomish type music mixed with Hardcore/Thrash metal. The singer can truly make use of those lungs, he can sing like KING DIAMOND and Bobby Blitz of OVERKILL. At the same time the vocalist can sing in hardcore style and even death metal. The proof is in the first 2 songs Blood and Hate. The cover of this CD would make you think this is Gothic or Doom, far from it. Heavy guitar riffs, haunting yet heavy music. It does have a bit of PANTERA influence. SYLS is their most satanic and captivating song on this CD.

Acid Death returns after a long absence. This promo is very different from the last. With this promo they expand their musical capability, which is very needed cause not many bands do this stuff like this played with determination and solos done with feelings. I highly approve this bands material. They play technical death/ thrash.

Second opus from Doom gods Anathema. First album without Darren (the original singer). Vincent (guitarist) takes over the vocal duties. As for the album, it’s totally different. The vocals are clean, no more growls and musically headed in the Pink Floyd style then its first doom album. It contains 12 songs which are actually good depending on your mood, songs like Angelica, Eternity III, and the Pink Floyd cover Hope are the best songs of the album. Nothing completely original, but worth a shot.

Five songs of emotional black metal from Spain, and this has good production. Dark and enchanting songs with keyboards and piano heard in songs like Legend of the Great Magic War and The Last Battle. These songs strike the soul. I’m curious to hear what’s next from this band. By the way, there is drum programming on this CD, it’s a bit obvious but not enough to change the mood of the music. Excellent musical masterpiece! This CD takes you into darkness. This is best described as militaristic, satanic musik. Spoken lyrics, chants of evil, pain and despair! I’m sure this isn’t new to many of you but I’ll review it anyway. Eerie, majestic black metal, you can hear the VENOM and BATHORY influences lightly intermixed in this creation of darkness. The vocals are infernal shrieks and screams. The Eclipse /The Raven can take you on a journey through the painful world of these individuals. Beautifully done cover are of Edgar Allen Poe, the classic guitar played here is such an immense anguish it will have you listening to this piece over and over again.. They use synth and keyboards to their best advantage. Yes, these guys are among my top favorites, my only c0mplaint is that the songs are too short. This band is amazingly strange, sick grind/ gore metal! The freaky vocals made me laugh but it fits their music well. These guys definitely know what they are doing. They present you with perversions. The music is actually deranged with its toned down guitar, grinding music and gargled, putrid vocals. This would be a band I would enjoy live! They remind me of when I used to enjoy NAPALM DEATH/ GODFLESH. The songs sound a bit repetitive but you can sit through this and actually enjoy it. 22 fucking songs!

The cover art on this CD was done by one of the artists featured in an older issue of ENDEMONIADA (LAINEN of Canada). The music is fast paced, typical death metal, with stagnant vocals. Immortal Suffering-Eternal Damnation
5 songs of pure death metal! Impious lyrics against the organized religious myths, such as Sacred Descender and Jesus Lied shows their anger not only lyrically but in the crudeness of their music as well. On this demo they have backing vocals by Frank Rini (INTERNAL BLEEDING) and Kelly Izquierdo (ex-DEATHRUNE/ MORTAL DECAY). Immortal Suffering is a great instrumental, a sensible piece. Gotten Over Her brings us to a necroerotic piece (which brings to mind Sgt. Bertrand Jr. of NECROEROTIC zine, he’d love this). All in all, I prefer watching Immortal Suffering live, the band needs something more to set them apart from all the other death metal bands.

Ah, now this is refreshing! Technical death metal mixed with industrial doom. It is great! Bobby Sadzak’s guitar playing is a bit repetitive but the riffs and his solos are magnificent, his style fits with this mode of creative music. The drum sampler is quite heavy, they almost give off the effects of an actual drummer. They use some female vocals by Mary Giordano. This is fast and powerful. Japanese death metal! This band’s music started right after I hit ‘play’, which I found surprising, their first attack on my mind started with the thunderous song Corporal Celebration. Orchestrated Chaos-various artists/ compilation
This is Soulside Record’s dedication to the international underground. It starts out with ABAZAGORATH’s mystical intro and leads into their fast driven musical blasphemy Rites of The Black Herald, the next creative band in this CD is ANGELKILL with Trial By Fire the vocals seemed to forced on this song, excellent guitar riffs. IMMORTAL DESTRUCTION storms in with powerful true death metal with deep growling. The song, No Escape is short. And sweet like watching a beheading. MALICIOUS INTENT does not remain behind although they remind me of PANTERA, a little, they collaborated with the right song for this compilation, Face to Evil to introduce themselves. One can’t really judge a band based on one song but you get an idea of what the band’s styles are like. Some bands left a good impression such as the above mentioned and INTHRONED, FATALITY, SLAVESTATE, UNEARTH, and MENDACITY. 8 out of 16 is a good deal. My only complaint is that there are no New York bands. Check this out. I like the green-swirl colored CD too. Many sound unoriginal but you can feel their struggle.

Fourth album from Samael, eleven songs PASSAGE is totally different from the last 3 albums. They seem to be progressing more to an extreme side of metal, overall it’s not a very bad album now that they have added a second guitarist it sounds much heavier than their last three. But it lacks the blackness of the first two albums. Plus a drum machine is used which sounds too obvious, vocals sound a bit deeper. Musically, it’s a bit too repetitive, synths are all over the place. This is bound to disappoint a lot of the early supporters of the band. A CD with too many dull bands in it. I can only recommend you look out for the following bands: CHAMBER SEVEN who have a good song in here called Haunted, this song has ghosts wailing in the background of the music. Fast, hard-driving music. The vocalist, Andrea, sounds like Tami of SACRILEGE. Thrashy hard rock metal and Christopher treats that guitar beautifully during solos. And the other band on this CD worth checking out is ONE NATION, they have a song in here called What I Want which is a hardcore with metal crossover.
