Acidby LuciferaI found out about Belgium's well-kept secret, Acid through several letters sent to me, when fiendz would ask, is this where you got your name from "Lucifera." I never heard the band before until Will finally said, this is your song and played it for me. He played the whole album. To my amazement they had a female singer, Kate. Needless to say, they caught my attention. I did some research and found out that the band started sometime in the 1980s under the name Previous Page (Acid does sound better). Besides Kate the rest of the band members were: Demon - lead guitar, Dizzy Lizzy - solo guitar, T-Bone - bass, and Anvill - drums. They released 3 albums under Giant ACID in 1982: (Tracks) Acid Ghostriders Hell On Wheels Anvill Demon Hooked On Metal Woman At Last Five Days In Hell Heaven's Devils Satan MANIAC in 1983 (tracks) Max Overload Maniac Black Car America Lucifera No Time Prince Of Hell And Fire Bottoms Up ENGINE BEAST 1985 (tracks) S.T.C. Lost In Hell Halloween Queen Big Ben Lady Death Warriors Of The Dark Let Me Die She Loves You Engine Beast Satan's Delivery And they also released a few Eps: Hooked On Metal/Hell On Wheels, Lucifera/Ghostriders, and Black Car/Drop Dead/The Day Before You Die/Exterminator . Their music was heavy/speed metal, and Kate's vocals were great, simplistic and typical of power metal/speed metal vocals. Musically, they were a little bit like Motorhead, and Kate's vocals are similar to Doro's Warlock days in Hellbound, yet Kate's voice was a little higher and "clean". They opened for legendary bands such as Motorhead and Venom. Re-release of Maniac and Mp3's are available at Paengg Distribution. http://www.paengg.de/80smetal/acid_2maniac.html Labels re-releasing Acid are Maximum Metal/High Voltage. I"m not sure what became of this band, most likely they split up but if you have information about what the members are now doing, feel free to post it on Endemoniada's Warboard. |
