An Audiogramme received and faithfully recorded and submitted to the Dean, then to The Editor, from: Dr. James Woodbury Rowe -
on matters of import to the global communityGreetings Dean and Greetings to Our Prince Regent and Lord President:
It seems we have been blessed by a glorious spring day and I am in the brightest spirits having read The Legacy of the Tudor Rose - Lady Jane Grey. I never knew my audiogrammes held such meaning to the society. And I do appreciate the Editor giving them "30 seconds" of electronic fame.
New in the news. I see President Clinton has engaged a suite of offices over looking New York City from on high. And I can only speculate what the future holds. I believe the more interesting part of President Clinton's life lies ahead. Will President Clinton be looking down from the high offices of the nearby UN Building soon?
I myself would prefer a simpler life of waking to the rooster where there are no need for alarm clocks and I am not beset by computer generated files from my favorite government agency.
News Item 2: Act Local Think Global. I noticed the California energy crisis has had interesting repercussions elsewhere. An Idaho senator who would have otherwise relegated the Californians to share the experience of flickering out, has found Idahons enraged by rising propane prices in consequence of the California impasse.
News Item 3: Uncultured Bacteria. Previously undetected bacteria have been found on ancient monuments slowly crumbling them away into dust. There seems to be no cure, as the bacteria clinging to the stone, cannot be isolated and analyzed. I reflect on old debate between Pasteur and his colleagues, whether disease is caused by the microorganisms itself or the terrain on which it functions. "My name is Ozymandis, King of Kings, look on my works ye mighty and despair."
Once again, my thanks to the Inditer dot com for advertising my meager efforts in my cultural mission. If of course, America must have a culture, it should be the English one of the other civilised democracies great and small. Dr. James Woodbury Rowe
