"...An excellent blend of sound...and sterling intonation...Ensemble skills of this quality are not easy to find"--------Greenwich Times

History...... WestFair Singers is a women's vocal ensemble designed to unite Westchester County, New York, and Fairfield County, Connecticut, in a shared musical experience of quality and beauty. We were founded in 1987 under the name "WestFair Chamber Singers" by Judith Hahnssen-Schwab. We are a not for profit volunteer organization directed by Dr. Jerry Forderhase of Manhattan, who became our musical director in 1996. The group is comprised of women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. Members range in ability from amateur to professional. All share a love of music and ensemble singing. Our wide repertoire consists of holiday, classical and popular music with an emphasis on American and women composers. In addition the group seeks out local composers to air their works.

Our Music Director

Jerry Forderhase was appointed music director of WestFair Singers in June of 1996 upon the retirement of WestFair founder and director,Judith Hahnssen-Schwab.

Youth Artist Competition

Part of the WestFair tradition is our annual Youth Artist Competition. The purpose of the competition is to provide a talented young musician or youth ensemble with a scholarship and a chance to perform with us in a live concert. The winner can be an instrumentalist or a vocalist and must audition prior to their high school graduation. Scholarship award is intended to be used to further musical studies and can be applied toward expenses such as private lessons, specialized summer camp expenses, school tuition and the like.
