Fearful Lessons

The child spoke, eyes filled with fear,
the Devil alone was there to hear,
The child whimpered, cried, and screamed,
was he winning? that’s not how it seemed,
Finally, he turned and fled,
with terrible dreams running through his head,
The Devil mocked and jeered and smiled,
he laughed at the innocence of the child,
The child sick, hurt, and tormented,
was worn and cold, alone, abandoned,
And in the end, by no odd fate,
the child at last was taught to
HATE

I am Jealousy

My name is Jealousy,
I am born of human hearts.

From the first time two people saw each other,
I have been eating away at the
darkest corner of human souls,
waiting to surface and conquer.

I am resentment, possessiveness, and suspicion.
I will turn brothers against brothers,
and sisters against sisters.

My father is Lucifer, my mother is Inequality,
My children are Greed, Superiority,
Envy, Anger, and Betrayal.

We have the power to ruin a person’s mind.
We mangle the soul,
and we destroy the heart.

Together, we will cause corruption on Earth,
until the deaths of humans,
who brought us to life.

Broken Mirror

I look out from my hiding place inside the broken glass,
I see the world as only I can see.
What are these strange events that come to pass,
spiraling and turning around me?

People living their lives day to day,
running through that endless maze,
Why is it I seem so far away
Why is it all just a misty haze?

My broken mirror reflects true lies
Revealing facades where some choose to hide
The smart are dumb, the fools are wise
Pure glass to see impurity outside.

Broken Mirror please set me free
make me understand the paradox I live in
Who is it that they want me to be
And what makes being myself such a sin?

The colors mix together in a rainbow of black
I hold the pen but I am the author no more
Where lie enchanted potions that I lack
to make me who they want, who I abhor?

My broken mirror reflects true lies
Revealing facades where some choose to hide
The smart are dumb, the fools are wise
Pure glass to see impurity outside.

Toss and turn in the words you say
choose the ones you think will make me flail
I am the evil angel, Satan’s child astray
I heed your deafening thunder and I wail.

People who are never wrong, but never understand
conduct the witch hunts as I stare blankly through the glass
Oblivious to truths I repeat within the sinking sand
this breath of mine might surely be my last

My broken mirror reflects true lies
Revealing facades where some choose to hide
The smart are dumb, the fools are wise
Pure glass to see impurity outside.

Welcome, darkness, to my room of black
Sing me a sad song to make me sleep
Provide for me the fervent heart I lack
Trapped in a broken mirror now I weep

So weave your webs of hatred before the day is done
go home to empty shadows of the soul’s heart
the darkness and the moon destroy the sun
life liberty and love do now depart...

My broken mirror reflects true lies
Revealing facades where some choose to hide
The smart are dumb, the fools are wise
Pure glass to see impurity outside.
