Chris O'Donnell did a fair job as Robin. He was rebellious, which was appropriate, but sometimes it seemed like a little too much. You almost wished Batman would just wipe the floor with him for being such a brat sometimes.

The animated series originally tried to avoid using Robin, because they didn't want him to turn out to be there just to give Batman someone else to save. They shouldn't have worried. "Robin's Reckoning," the story that explained Robin's origin and meeting with Batman, won the series an Emmy Award. Currently, Dick Grayson has become Nightwing, and Tim Drake is the new Robin.

And who could forget Burt Ward? Just look at him, doesn't it make you want to say, "c'mon, old chum, to the Batmobile"? In the 60's, Robin often figured things out faster than Batman did. He also got beat up a lot, and Batman had to save him. Maybe that's what the cartoon guys were worried about.
