This page is the home of the dead Rizzito Neighborhood Wrestling. This organization lasted about 1 month. If you are checking this site out you may be a reader of the Backyard Wrestling Link or an Erie wrestler or wrestling fan who remembered the RNW for one reason or another. The following is a short history of the RNW given unbiasedly through the eyes of a spectator, wrestler, and commentator.
The RNW started out as a very small Backyard federation. They were 3rd behind the Vicious Wrestling Federation, and the incredible Hard Core Wrestling. RNW started out for fun. The roster wasn't too great at first but quickly heated up. The Exterminator who had no skills, knowledge, or wrestling ability was there first champion. The Ghetto Supastar picked up the strap soon after. Then after the VWF temporarily ended after the infamous "Revenge" show a lot of new talent jumped to the RNW. Ultimatly the organization ended on a count a laziness and internal conflict. The head booker couldn't decide if he wanted RNW to get serious or just be for fun. There were 3 kliqs each trying to get there slice of the RNW pie. In the end there just wasn't enough pie to go around. The owner couldn't really make up his mind. He said he wanted RNW to be the #1 promotion in Erie yet chose The Exterminator an unknown, untalented, uninterested, terrible wrestler over well known local indi and backyard star Cannibal Dan. Proplems also arose between superstars in the RNW and with Summer dawning the RNW quietly ended. There were a few memorable moments like the bloodbath match involving Ghetto Supastar and Straight Jacket. The best RNW match was a technical symphony between long time rivals Mr. Bungal and Straight Jacket. There are no future plans in sight and the RNW ring has been taken down. The biggest proplem would be bringing everyone together and getting along. The RNW is basically a dead issue in the Erie PA wrestling scene. Currently in Erie there is Basement Championship Wrestling, The Vicious Wrestling Federation, and the semi independent Hard Core Wrestling. Is there any future for the RNW or is this all just a look into the past? Only time will tell.
