brazil

here's where it all goes down: hell, sao paulo wouldn't be sao paulo if it weren't for coffee. ironically, the city that began as a coffee plantation has little time to consume the stuff -- the cafe culture is a relatively new idea on the first world side of things. Mostly, people stand on the corner and down endless cups of cafezinhas, a sickly sweet brew that has us gagging, but has the brasileiros and brasileiras zipping around like wildmen. So that's why the traffic in Rio is so deadly.
