9:45AM, September 11, 2001

A 757 was hijacked out of Boston this morning, crashing at 9AM into World Trade Center I, shortly thereafter another into Tower II, now a fire at the Pentagon due to an air crash.

From my window I see black smoke belching from both towers, on my roof, i have a birds eye view of a gigantic gaping hole in one of the towers. Logan Airport has been closed, Newark, LaGuardia and JFK have been closed down, the New York Stock Exchange has been closed, there is a fire on the Washington Mall.

40,000 people work in the towers, the upper third of both are irreperably damaged from just looking at them -- who knows what happened to the planes that crashed in, both passenger jets, the second's source is unconfirmed.

The subways over the river have been closed down, my tv reception is out, phone service is failing fast -- our world as we know it is in deep trouble, and here on this most beautiful fall morning.

Wherever you are, I suppose now is a time when it's acceptable to take a minute to be grateful for life and health.
