Tai Chi Chuan is an increasingly studied exercise and art throughout the world by the young and old, weak and strong, and as a form of therapy. Wu Style Tai Chi is highly internal with subtle external power, which is considered secondary, driven behind the graceful and relaxed movements. The practitioner will develop concentration, improve their productivity in their daily lives, reduce stress, and lead a healthy lifestyle. As a self-defense art, the person uses lightly controlled movements to redirect an attacker's strength against them. The student will be introduced to the traditional long form, containing the principles of Wu Style Tai Chi. Applications to the movements found in the long form is applied in the push hands exercises where students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Tai Chi as a self-defense art.
