D & J Stable owns and rides Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds and is located in beautiful upstate New York between Binghamton and Albany. D & J boards a few horses and also Richard does some leather repair.
The Quarter Horse is a favorite breed of horse and suits the type of riding we do. Horses that are handy, can do action things like team penning, and then take you for a trail ride, are the ones that stay in the barn. Thoroughbreds that can ride are also a favorite breed


Here's a pic of a Quarter Horse Stallion, Bar's One Shot, or "Shotzie." He was standing at D & J until he was sold. His March 2000 baby out of Julie's mare is just doing great.

Upate 11/12/00 -- Smokey is 7 months and coming along very nicely. When I get a new picture, will post.

Team Penning events are a favorite activity. It is challenging and fun.

Also D&J has organized a Cowboy Mounted Shooting Club for horsemen/women who would like to compete on horseback in period costumes and using Single Action .45 caliber Six-shooters. New York Southern Tier Cowboy Mounted Shooting Assoc. is now affiliated with the National CMSA based in Phoenix, AZ. Any New Yorkers interested in joining, please do not hesitate to contact Richard.
