IC: - This term means any text after this term in a post is In Character, which means what is actually happening in the Story.
OOC: - Anything after this term means that its Out Of Character, and therefore could be asking a question to me or whatever you wanted to say.
An Example of these two things in use is:
<< IC: Lt. Cmdr. Patrick reaches for his PPG, jsut as he is hit in the back of the head by someone.
OOC: I hope you liked my fall! >>
This is to be done to make things easier for me when I sort out the storyline and the comments to post up on the Mission Logs section, since this is part of an episode. The next thing is that many officers have abbreviations for their positions, like CO for Commanding Officer, and XO of Executive Officer. To see the Crew Manifest, where these abbreviations are written, Click Here . An Example is: << OOC: I like this.....
IC: Captain Ivarez gets up from the floor, seeing his XO lying next to him, unconcious. He realizes that his XO needs medical help , so he calls for Dr. Hernandez, the Med. Officer. >>
The next thing is to respect your superior officer (AKA Higher Ranking). An Example is:
<< IC: Lt. Fleegle salutes Captain Ivarez and says "Lt. Fleegle reporting in, sir!". >>
Don't do this:
<< IC: Lt. Fleegle makes a pass at Captain Ivarez. >>
Remember, being a bootlicker isn't bad, because bootlicking usually means better chances for promotions.
One more thing: DON'T post key changes in the plot, AKA destroying a Capital Ship, UNLESS your the CO, XO or person who came up with the story idea. Also, description is GOOD.
An Example of all these fundamental concepts is:
<< OOC: Here I am!
IC: Lt. John Smith walks aboard the Humongous ship E.A.S. Hypocrites. He walks to the bridge, where Captain Thomas Ivarez was sitting in the command chair. "Lt. Smith, reporting in for duty sir!" says the Brash Lt., Saluting his Senior Officer. "Ok then, Mr. Smith, take your position on the bridge, and be prepared to leave dock in 1 hour." Says the Captain.
OOC: There we go. >>
