A federal jury in Brooklyn convicted an ex-NYPD cop of conspiring to distribute Ecstasy pills at Manhattan nightclubs.

James Vargo, 33, was kicked off the force in early 2000 for selling steroids, and became a bouncer at the upper East Side strip club Scores, officials said.

Although Vargo was not accused of dealing illegal drugs at Scores, Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bryan Rose and John Curran contended that the ex-cop sold Ecstasy to bouncers at the Roxy and Exit nightclubs in Manhattan.

After a one-week trial before Federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis, the jury deliberated less than a day before convicting Vargo on Monday of the single count.

Vargo, of New Jersey, faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 30.
