| My name is Janice and I'm from Connecticut, USA. This is a picture of me and my husband. We will be married 19 years in October. The photo was taken a few years ago and is one of the rare ones you'll find of me. I'm sad to say that I tend to duck the camera because I've been so self-conscious about my size. This is a great source of frustration to family members who obviously look at me with different eyes than I do. I am working to change my self-image, but I'm sure others like me can understand what hard work this is. This site is helping me so much to achieve that goal. I've been heavy most of my life. I started putting on weight when I was 8 after my dad died. My teen years were lonely and my early adult years weren't much better. I made some poor decisions and kissed quite a few toads! Then I met my husband. I never thought I'd find someone who would love and accept me for who I am, but he does. God surely blessed me with a wonderful husband! We enjoy antiquing, visiting places of historical interest, walking beside the ocean, yard sales, rides in the country, movies, visiting with family and most of all-eachother! We also have two cats that keep us entertained. |

My name is Kathryn and I am an aspiring plus-size model based in Brisbane, Australia. I just wanted to let u know that I loved looking around your site and think its wonderful that you have taken the time to post all that information and opinion and possibly impact positively on someones self-esteem and acceptance. It frustrates me so much that ther are actually people in the world that deliberatly put-down others and make them feel 2nd rate..This is particularly true with 'larger women' in society. I dont understand who they think they are?
The majority of people looking at your web page are probably 'larger women' looking for general information..some boost of self confidance or searching for someone who understands what they are feeling. It is up to the rest of us who DO feel sexy..sassy..independant..and confident to help these ladies understand that they dont have to conform to any 'set standards' of society and that they are unique individuals with so much to offer to the world. Beauty comes in all forms..inside..outside and from the heart. No matter what size women are, they need to appreciate themselves and remember that 'people will only treat you the way you let them'. |

I believe all BBW's should love themselves. The people that are cruel and tease are just jealous cause all the guys are really looking at us :-) lol. I am married to a wonderful, handsome, United States Marine, who tells me every day that he loves me in every way possible, even on bad hair days. :) My mom always says that in this world, you need a little bit of everybody, so I am proud to be on this world and be who I am, and I know that we can be big and beautiful at the same time, no matter what anyone says.
