Being & Staying Healthy

Almost all of us have said our health is the most important thing. I know I have begun to really believe this. I was a young child with epilepsy. I am glad that I can't remember those days (it was gone by the time I was 4 yrs old) because I know it's a very difficult illness to have, especially for a child. I have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome over 10 yrs ago and this is the main problem right now. After years of trying NOT to conceive when I was younger, it has left me asking for help in order to conceive as an adult. At least there IS help in order for me to make my babies.

Taking the main health problems I have had in the past and current in consideration, I am glad that I haven't had even more serious health problems that run in my family such as diabetes, heart attacks, and cancer. I have decided that it is time that I take my own health much more seriously.

Have you ever been to the doctor and been told you must start taking care of yourself? Well then, perhaps you can recall possibly feeling a little humiliated, upset and ambivalent about the situation. Have you been suspected of not caring for your health because you are a woman of size? Of course, this isn't necessarily so.

Being and staying healthy is as important to the BBW as their smaller sisters--some of us care, and others don't. But in order for our bodies (and minds) to work (and work longer), they need to stay healthy. With this in mind, check out the listing of ways to be healthy, stay healthy, and be happy. By the way, here's a link to a great site I was emailed: Fat and Fit, Inc. It is a website for BBWs on getting fit! Here's to our good health!

    T-I-E-S (Terminal Illness Emergency Service)

I just discovered this incredible organization on the Internet! Its goal is to find adoptees and birthparents so that important medical information can be shared during a terminal illness. It is incredible work, and I salute them!

Many BBW's try all sorts of diets in order to lose weight for various reasons. Whatever your reason for wanting to lose weight, remember that not all diets work and some can be dangerous. It is essential that you research and get enough information to make an informed decision regarding which diet to use. Always choose one that is safe. Remember as well that if a diet sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
