Autumn is my favorite season. I love the weather because it is cooler, but not cold. I especially love the changing colors of the leaves. Do you know what causes the leaves to change color? As the days get shorter, and cooler, the chlorophyll decreases causing chemical reactions that change the green leaves to its natural color. The dryer the leaves, the brighter their color.
I love going to Upstate New York and New England to watch the Fall foliage. I go with my family and we pick bright, beautiful leaves that we place all around our home. We also go apple picking, and do some shopping in the small villages. It is a fun family activity. The best thing to do is to rent a room at a Bed & Breakfast or a small cottage for the weekend during Oktoberfest or some other festival. New York has many fall festivals to enjoy!
