Speed lines are most useful in Manga, besides telling the reader where the action is headed or coming from it can represent, emotions like fear or anger, a duh! feeling or embarrasment, the possibilies are endless.
These are basic Manga frameing, Jump Cuts are how American comics are mainly drawn, Frame by Frame Manga is used to express detail and action. Besides that Manga are usually 400+ pages and they use this type of paneling to emphasis certain parts of stories while animating their characters at the same time. LAstly there is "Unknown" frameing (bottom) this is when you can't tell what the story is just by looking at the pictures alone.
