This is a descriptive picture of what part of the body (on both females and males) makes up that shot. I.E. The whole body in the camera or on-screen will be a Long Shot (LS).
These are two expressions you will be encountering a lot in Anime ... in the left is Anger and on the right is Fear/Shock, learn em' all because you will be animating them a lot.
